Billing
Use Billing to understand VeloDB Cloud pricing, register a payment method, view billing statements, and manage your balance. VeloDB Cloud collects usage information every minute, bills hourly, and generates hourly and monthly bills for reconciliation and cost analysis.
Before moving to production, link a credit card or open a cloud-marketplace channel to keep the service running.
Note Prices vary by plan, region, cloud provider, and warehouse model.
Warning If your credit-card / cash / credit balance is exhausted and no cloud-marketplace channel is open, the warehouse stops. Data is retained for 7 days.

Pricing overview
VeloDB Cloud has different billing items for SaaS and BYOC warehouses.
SaaS billing
For SaaS warehouses, VeloDB Cloud manages the underlying infrastructure and bills the following items:
The example prices below use AWS US East (N. Virginia) as the reference region. Actual prices vary by region and environment. For the latest pricing details, see the VeloDB pricing page.
| Billing item | Description | Example price |
|---|---|---|
| Compute | Billed by cluster compute resource usage, measured in vCPU-hours. | Standard: US$0.134 / vCPU-hour Premium: US$0.174 / vCPU-hour |
| Storage | Billed by stored data volume, measured in GB-hours. | US$0.00004 / GB-hour |
| Cache | Billed by cache usage, measured in GB-hours. | US$0.000332 / GB-hour |
| Data Transfer Fee | Billed for eligible ingress and egress data transfer traffic. | US$0.03 / GB |
Data Transfer Fee
The Data Transfer Fee applies only to SaaS warehouses and takes effect on September 1, 2026 at 00:00 UTC. Data transfer usage before this date is not charged retroactively.
For billing purposes, data transfer includes:
- Ingress: data transferred into VeloDB Cloud from your environment or external data sources, such as data ingestion through Stream Load, Routine Load, CDC-based ingestion, or reads from external data lakes.
- Egress: data transferred out of VeloDB Cloud to users, applications, clients, endpoints, downstream systems, external storage, or data lakes, such as query result retrieval, endpoint-based subscriptions, exports, synchronization workflows, or writes to external storage.
VeloDB Cloud measures billable usage by server-side metering and shows the usage and charges in your billing details. Traffic used for internal service communication within VeloDB Cloud is not charged as customer data transfer.
BYOC billing
For BYOC warehouses, compute and storage resources run in your own cloud account. Your cloud provider bills those infrastructure resources directly, and VeloDB Cloud bills the compute service fee.
| Billing item | Description | Example price |
|---|---|---|
| Compute Service | Billed by cluster compute resource usage, measured in vCPU-hours. | Standard: US$0.11 / vCPU-hour Premium: US$0.143 / vCPU-hour |
Deduction channels
VeloDB Cloud supports four deduction channels:
| Channel | Description |

| Credit Card | Register a credit card for automatic deduction. |
| Add Funds | Top up a cash balance via offline transfer. |
| Credits | Activate credit codes issued by VeloDB Cloud. |
