AWS Marketplace

Use AWS Marketplace to pay for VeloDB Cloud usage with your AWS account. Subscribe through the public listing for standard pay-as-you-go rates, or accept a Private Offer that VeloDB Cloud sends to your AWS account.

SubscriptionWhen to use
PAYG (Pay-As-You-Go)Public listing with on-demand billing at standard rates.
Private OfferCustom commercial terms negotiated with VeloDB Cloud. You receive a private offer link by email and accept it on AWS Marketplace. A Private Offer can be consumption-based, with usage-based metering at negotiated rates, or a Committed Contract, which draws usage from a prepaid contract balance first.

Note:

Both subscription types use the same VeloDB Cloud authorization flow. The subscription type changes how you reach the AWS Marketplace page and how AWS bills you. AWS Marketplace is a billing channel for both SaaS and BYOC warehouses. It does not change how a warehouse is deployed.

Subscribe with PAYG

Open the VeloDB Cloud product page on AWS Marketplace in one of the following ways:

  • From the VeloDB Cloud console:

    1. Log in to the VeloDB Cloud console.
    2. In the upper-left corner, click the organization name to open the Organization Overview page, then click Billing in the left navigation pane.
    3. On Billing Overview, click Subscribe on the Cloud Marketplace card.
    4. Select AWS Marketplace, and then click Go to Subscribe.
  • Directly from AWS Marketplace:

Go to AWS Marketplace, search for velodb, and then open VeloDB Cloud (Pay As You Go).

On the VeloDB Cloud product page, continue the following steps:

  1. Log in to AWS Marketplace. On the AWS Marketplace product page, click View purchase options.
  2. Click Subscribe. When the page shows "You are currently subscribed to this offer", click Set up your account to open the VeloDB Cloud authorization page.
  3. Log in to VeloDB Cloud on the authorization page.
  4. Select the target organization and click Confirm Authorization.
  5. Click Check to return to Billing Overview. When the Cloud Marketplace card shows AWS Marketplace, authorization is complete.

Subscribe with a Private Offer

A Private Offer is created and sent to you by VeloDB Cloud. It includes custom terms, such as committed spend, discounted rates, or a multi-year contract, that are not available on the public PAYG listing.

Before you start

  1. Contact VeloDB Cloud support to negotiate the offer terms.
  2. Provide the AWS account ID that will subscribe to and pay for VeloDB Cloud usage. The Private Offer is bound to this account. Only this account can accept the offer.
  3. Once terms are agreed, the sales team publishes the Private Offer to your AWS account and emails you a Private Offer link (an AWS Marketplace URL).

Accept the Private Offer

  1. Sign in to the AWS account that received the offer. Then open the Private Offer link from the email.

The link takes you to the VeloDB Cloud product page on AWS Marketplace, with the Private Offer preselected.

  2. Review the offer details, pricing, contract length, payment schedule, and any custom dimensions. Make sure they match what you negotiated with VeloDB Cloud sales.

  3. Click Accept Offer. Acknowledge the EULA and complete payment setup if requested.

  4. After AWS confirms the subscription, click Set up your account to open the VeloDB Cloud authorization page.

  5. On the authorization page, log in to VeloDB Cloud, select the target organization, and click Confirm Authorization, as in the PAYG flow.

  6. Return to Billing Overview and verify that the Cloud Marketplace card shows AWS Marketplace. Subsequent VeloDB Cloud usage is billed to the AWS account that accepted the Private Offer.

How billing works

This applies to every AWS Marketplace subscription, regardless of how you subscribed.

  • Metering and invoicing: VeloDB Cloud reports usage to AWS hourly. AWS bills you monthly and issues the invoice. VeloDB Cloud does not invoice you directly through this channel.
  • Usage details: On the Billing page, click the Billing Statements tab to review detailed usage and billing statements. AWS issues the official invoice.
  • Committed Contract drawdown: If you accepted a Committed Contract offer, VeloDB Cloud deducts usage from the contract balance first. When the balance reaches zero, VeloDB Cloud automatically falls back to standard PAYG metering, so the service is not interrupted.

Manage your subscription

Once authorization succeeds, the Cloud Marketplace card on Billing Overview shows the AWS logo, and its link changes from Subscribe to Unsubscribe. This confirms that AWS Marketplace is the active deduction channel.

To stop using AWS Marketplace as your deduction channel, click Unsubscribe on the Cloud Marketplace card.
