Create a SaaS Warehouse with Terraform

Use Terraform when you want to create VeloDB Cloud SaaS warehouses from reviewed, version-controlled infrastructure configuration. A warehouse configuration can also define its initial physical compute cluster and auto-suspend behavior.

Before you create a warehouse

  • Authenticate the VeloDB Terraform provider.
  • Choose a supported cloud provider, region, Availability Zone, and compute configuration.
  • Ensure that your organization has an active deduction channel or sufficient balance. Warehouses and running clusters can incur charges.
  • Inject the warehouse administrator password from an approved secrets manager or CI/CD secret store. The provider records the password as a sensitive value in Terraform state so that it can detect password rotation. Use an encrypted remote backend and restrict access to state.

Create the warehouse

Use the velodb_warehouse resource for the complete configuration, supported values, and examples. Review the Terraform plan before applying it, especially the region, initial cluster capacity, and auto-suspend settings.

After Terraform finishes creating the resources, verify in the VeloDB Cloud Console that the warehouse and initial cluster have the Running status.

For the Terraform workflow itself, see Apply Terraform configuration.
