Monitoring
You can use the OBSERVABILITY pages in the VeloDB Cloud console to investigate warehouse health, query behavior, resource consumption, and active work. Start with the page that matches the problem you need to investigate, then use alerts or an external monitoring system to notify your team about recurring conditions.
Open monitoring
- Log in to the VeloDB Cloud console.
- In the upper-left corner, select the warehouse that you want to use.
- In the left navigation pane, under OBSERVABILITY, select the page you need.
Choose a monitoring page

| Investigate resource pressure, workload performance, or availability signals | Metrics | View warehouse- and cluster-level resource and service metrics, compare historical values, and star important metrics. |
| Get notified when a metric crosses a threshold | Alerts | Create and manage alert rules, configure notification channels, and review alert history. |
| Investigate a query that is still running | Sessions | View active sessions, inspect execution details, and terminate a query when necessary. |
| Investigate completed queries | Query Audit | Filter historical queries, inspect query details, and open an available query profile. |
| Understand compute, cache, and storage consumption | Usage | Review resource usage for the selected warehouse. |
Send metrics to an external monitoring system
For interactive investigation in the console, use Metrics. To collect metrics with Prometheus, visualize them in Grafana, or send them to a supported external monitoring platform, use the Metrics API. The Metrics API is currently in Private Preview and must be enabled for your organization.
