Organizations
An organization is the top-level boundary for VeloDB Cloud members, warehouses, billing, and organization settings. Use separate organizations when you need to isolate resources, access, or billing between teams or business units.
Create an organization
- Log in to the VeloDB Cloud console.
- In the upper-left corner, click Switch Organization to open the organization selector.
- Click Create New Organization.
- Enter an Organization Name. The name can contain letters, numbers, underscores (
_), and hyphens (-), and can be up to 32 characters. - Optionally, enter an organization description.
- Click Confirm.
The new organization becomes available in the organization selector. The user who creates the organization becomes its Organization Admin.
Note:
By default, each user can create one organization. Contact VeloDB Support if you need a higher organization quota.
Switch organizations
- In the upper-left corner of the console, click Switch Organization.
- Select the organization that you want to use.
The console reloads in the selected organization. Organization-level pages, warehouses, members, billing, and permissions now refer to that organization.
Open Organization Overview
- In the upper-left corner, click the organization name to open Organization Overview.
The Organization Overview page shows the organization's warehouse summary and provides filters for warehouse name, status, and deployment mode. You can click Create New Warehouse to add a warehouse to the current organization.
Update organization details
- Open Organization Overview.
- In the left navigation pane, click Organization Settings.
- Edit the Organization Name or Organization Description.
- Click Confirm.
Only an Organization Admin can update organization details. Changing the organization name does not change its organization ID or the warehouses and members assigned to it.
Manage organization resources
From the left navigation pane in the organization view, use the following pages:
| Page | Use it to |
|---|---|
| Members | Invite members and manage organization roles. See Members. |
| Billing | Review usage, balance, and billing activity. See Billing. |
| Plans | Review available organization plans. See Plans. |
| Cloud Resources | Review cloud resources associated with BYOC warehouses. |
| Activity Logs | Review organization-level activity. |
| Notifications | Review organization notifications. |
| Organization Settings | Update the organization name and description. |
Organization roles control access to these pages. For role definitions and member management, see Members. For warehouse SQL users and roles, see Warehouse Users and Roles.
