VeloDB Studio
Security & Trust

Security and Trust

Security and trust are only valid in the Desktop version, the Server version is deployed on your private network or VPC, and has no communication with the VeloDB server.

In VeloDB Studio, we regard security as our most important priority. We will not send any data to the VeloDB server except for the basic statistics user count/version function.

We recommend that you establish a connection to the database server through an SSH tunnel to ensure data is secure during VeloDB Studio access.

Data Collection

We will send some anonymous usage data to the VeloDB server to help us improve our product. We do not collect any sensitive data. We use the open source Matomo service to collect data, and you can view more information about Matomo at here (opens in a new tab). Similar to Google Analytics.

We will mainly collect the following data:

  • App launch
  • Operating system version number
  • Type of operating system
  • Operating system language

These items help us understand basic information such as how many users are using the App, and the type of operating system the user is using.

All your connections and data and other information will not be collected and sent. You can view all the data we send through Help -> Open Console -> Network, which is transparent to you.

If you still have any concerns about the above data collection, please give us feedback and we will consider providing an option to turn off data collection in a future release.

Security update

VeloDB Studio is updated regularly to fix known security vulnerabilities.
