This article describes the release notes for the management and control platform of VeloDB Cloud.
July 2026
New Features
- Added support for custom infrastructure resource tags in the BYOC model, helping organizations classify resources and manage operations by their own tagging standards.
- Enhanced metrics monitoring and alerting for PostgreSQL/MySQL import tasks, helping users identify import exceptions in time.
- Added snapshot-based backup and restore capabilities, available by allowlist.
Improvements
- Refactored and optimized SQL Editor to improve the editing and user experience.
Billing
- Added data transfer billing, with charges starting in September 2026.
- Added support for sending monthly bills on a regular schedule.
Security
- Added controls for log collection and the AI assistant, allowing users to enable related diagnostic and assistant capabilities as needed.
- Added support for AWS EBS encryption keys in the BYOC model.
June 2026
New Features
- Added onboarding flows for real-time analytics and observability scenarios, helping new users get started with workload-specific guidance.
- Added support for auto scaling, allowing clusters to scale automatically based on workload demand.
- Added support for multi-AZ deployment in the BYOC model on AWS and GCP to improve availability.
- Added support for SAML SSO integrations, including Okta, Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra ID, and Cisco Duo.

- Added the Management API, allowing organizations to manage VeloDB Cloud resources programmatically.
- Added a Terraform provider for VeloDB, allowing users to manage warehouses and clusters as code.
Improvements
- Optimized the first-time warehouse creation flow for a smoother onboarding experience.
- Adjusted the free trial policy to a 30-day trial with US$300 in credits.

- The SaaS model now offers a Premium plan, providing enhanced service tiers for organizations with higher security and support requirements.
- Added visual management of Management API Keys, allowing organization administrators to create, view, enable/disable, and delete API keys directly from the console.
- Alert notifications now support Slack, enabling teams to receive warehouse alerts directly in their Slack channels.

- Optimized the console navigation menu structure and overall UI layout for clearer organization and a more consistent user experience.

- The BYOC model was launched in the Central India region of Azure.
- The BYOC model was launched in the Mumbai region of AWS.
March 2026
New Features
- Support one-click data import from MySQL and PostgreSQL, significantly simplifying the data migration process.
- Added support for Frontend Group expansion, allowing warehouses with high shard counts or high query concurrency to scale up the FE resource specification beyond the free baseline. Each warehouse includes a free Small (4 vCPU, 16 GB RAM) FE group by default; paid expansion to Medium, Large, or XLarge is available on demand.
Improvements
- Intelligent time zone adaptation automatically switches the time display based on the user's location.

- The SaaS model was launched in the England region of AWS.
